Worldwide Governance Indicators (WGI)全球治理指标 (WGI)

The Worldwide Governance Indicators (WGI) project reports aggregate and individual governance indicators for over 200 countries and territories over the period 1996–2022, covering six dimensions of governance: Voice and Accountability, Political Stability and Absence of Violence/Terrorism, Government Effectiveness, Regulatory Quality, Rule of Law, and Control of Corruption.

These indicators are based on several hundred individual underlying variables obtained from over 30 data sources, including survey institutes, think tanks, non-governmental organizations, international organizations, and private sector firms. The composite measures are reported in standard normal units, typically ranging from approximately -2.5 (weak) to 2.5 (strong) governance performance. The WGI are widely used by researchers, policymakers, and analysts to compare governance quality across countries and over time.
