The AmericasBarometer, run by the LAPOP Lab at Vanderbilt University, is the only survey of democratic public opinion that covers all of North, Central and South America and the Caribbean. This dataset aggregates the 2004–2023 Grand Merge (301,156 respondents, 28 countries, ten survey rounds) to the country level: one row is one country in one fieldwork year.

Seven core items are hosted, each expressed as the weighted share of respondents choosing the top categories: support for democracy, satisfaction with democracy, respect for political institutions, trust in the president, the legislature and the supreme court, and whether corruption among public officials is seen as common. Country-level weights (wt) are used; don't-know, refused and not-asked answers are excluded from the base, and n reports the valid sample behind the support-for-democracy figure. Cells are empty where an item was not fielded in that country-year.

LAPOP's own reports usually rescale the 1–7 items to a 0–100 mean; the top-category share used here keeps this dataset comparable with the other barometers in this library. The respondent-level file is included in the delivery for anyone who needs the original scales.

LAPOP 官方报告通常把 1–7 分题线性拉伸到 0–100 取均值；此处改用最高档比例，是为了与本库其他三个 barometer 口径一致、便于横向比较。需要原始量表口径的，可用随交付的受访者级原始文件重算。
