The CEPII Gravity database assembles the variables used in gravity models of international trade: bilateral trade flows, geographic distance, contiguity, common language, trade agreements, and the economic size of both partners, for up to 252 countries and territories from 1948 to 2020.

This hosted slice keeps six benchmark years (1996, 2000, 2005, 2010, 2015, 2020 — 1996 is the first year with BACI trade data in this release, 2020 the last) and only directed country pairs with a positive BACI trade flow in that year; self-pairs are dropped. Trade flows are in current thousand US dollars, distance in kilometres (population-weighted great-circle distance between the largest cities). Contiguity, common official language and WTO-notified FTA in force are 0/1 indicators.

The full release covers every year from 1948 and 87 variables (GDP and population of both partners, colonial history, legal origins, religious proximity, entry costs, alternative distance measures, IMF and Comtrade flows). It is delivered alongside as the original CEPII archive but is not hosted here.

完整版本覆盖 1948 年以来的所有年份、共 87 个变量（双方 GDP 与人口、殖民历史、法律渊源、宗教相似度、进入成本、多种距离口径、IMF 与 Comtrade 贸易流等），已随交付附上 CEPII 原始压缩包，但未在此托管。
