Crisis-density rivalries identify interstate rivalries through the recurrence of international crises between the same pair of states, using crisis data from the International Crisis Behavior (ICB) project (Hewitt 2005). Each row is one crisis dyad: a pair of states that exchanged hostile actions during one international crisis, 1918-2001 - 778 crisis dyads belonging to 417 rivalries (345 isolated, 41 proto-rivalries, 31 enduring rivalries; the type counts are rivalries, not rows, because an enduring rivalry contributes more crisis dyads).

Rivalry-level attributes are carried on every row: the rivalry's start and end, its total number of crises, its duration in years (right-censored at 31 December 2001 for rivalries whose fade-out window was still open), the crisis density (crises per rivalry-year, the quantity the dataset is named after), and whether the rivalry had terminated. Every row also carries the crisis trigger and termination dates and the crisis duration in days; for crises that escalated to full-scale war the termination date is the COW war end date rather than the ICB crisis end date. 343 dyads are one-sided: one party was not coded as a crisis actor by ICB.

对抗层属性随每一行携带：对抗的起止、危机总数、持续年数（fadeout 期未满者右删失于 2001 年 12 月 31 日）、危机密度（每年危机数，本数据集的命名由来），以及对抗是否已终结。每行还带危机的触发与终结日期及持续天数；升级为全面战争的危机，其终结日期采用 COW 记载的战争结束日，而非 ICB 的危机结束日。其中 343 行为单边对：一方未被 ICB 编为危机行为体。
