ICEWS automatically codes source-action-target interactions from news reporting using the CAMEO event taxonomy. The preserved official raw stream contains micro-level events for every year from 1995 through 2022 and partial 2023 releases through April 10, 2023. The full raw scan shows that Event ID alone is reused across annual years; the minimal stable event identity is therefore Event ID plus Event Date. Release deduplication and revision handling occur only within that composite identity. Each hosted row is a country-year aggregate, not a micro-level event: event_count counts unique composite event identities; conflict counts use CAMEO roots 10-20; material conflict uses roots 15-20; and mean_intensity averages the official -10 to +10 Intensity field. The 2023 rows cover only January through April 10 and are explicitly marked incomplete; maps and rankings therefore default to the last complete year, 2022.
