The International Military Intervention (IMI) dataset records episodes in which the regular armed forces of one state entered another state in the context of a political issue or dispute. The two ICPSR studies cover 1946–1988 and 1989–2005 and document intervener-target pairs, dates, direction, force type, casualties, and coded motives.
