This panel dataset measures country-level oil and gas production, benchmark prices, production value, exports and net exports across the world. The unit of observation is country-year.

Oil production and price data run from 1932 to 2014 (2014 oil figures are incomplete); gas production and prices cover 1955–2014; export and net export indicators are limited to 1986–2013. It covers nearly all sovereign nations with population over 200,000 in 2000, plus many territories before their formal independence.

Production values are computed by multiplying output volumes with global benchmark oil and gas prices, which only approximate actual national prices due to differences in oil quality, trade contracts and transaction timing. Raw production statistics are sourced from USGS, World Bank and EIA; country identifiers are standardized to COW and QoG standards.
