SCAD records protests, riots, strikes, and other social disturbances in Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean. Each row is an event and retains start/end dates, country, event type, escalation, principal actor, target and issue, participation and death estimates, repression, and geocoded coordinates. The two official regional v3.3 files are concatenated with regional provenance retained; the separate seven-country SCAD-OPs module is preserved as raw but not joined. Secondary actors, targets and issues, narrative notes, and raw filenames remain in the official raw files but are omitted from the static website payload. The main release covers 1990-2017, with one anomalous earlier raw year retained for QA rather than silently deleted.
