UNCTAD International Investment Agreements (IIA) Network — BIT & TIPUNCTAD 国际投资协定网络 (BIT / TIP)

The UNCTAD IIA Navigator is the authoritative inventory of international investment agreements (IIAs). This dyadic dataset merges 520 UNCTAD per-country files (260 bilateral investment treaties, BITs, and 260 treaties with investment provisions, TIPs) into 3,770 unique country-pair treaties. Each row is a directed pair (home state → partner state) with the year of signature and the agreement type (BIT / TIP); multi-party treaties are decomposed into all pairwise links and de-duplicated as undirected pairs. Regional blocs (EU, ASEAN, EFTA, MERCOSUR, GCC, etc.) that sign IIAs are retained as synthetic nodes. It maps the global investment-protection treaty network and reveals where treaty coverage — and thus ISDS recourse — exists or has lapsed.
