The UNCTAD Investment Dispute Settlement (ISDS) Navigator is the authoritative public registry of known investor–state dispute settlement cases brought under international investment treaties. This registry covers 1,332 cases from 1989 to 2023, each a treaty-based claim by a foreign investor against a host state. Fields include the claimant's home state, the respondent (defendant) state, the applicable investment treaty, the economic sector, the proceeding status/outcome, and amounts claimed and awarded. It is the primary source for quantifying expropriation and treaty-breach risk by host country and sector.
